Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Environmental Superintendent to lead environmental programs at the Carlin Mine. The role may oversee water/land or air/waste programs, ensuring compliance responsibilities and permitting needs are met.

The successful candidate will manage environmental professionals, provide regulatory guidance, support permitting strategies, and collaborate with regulators and stakeholders to integrate environmental requirements into mine planning and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• 7+ years of experience in environmental compliance programs and permitting.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations and permitting processes.
• Familiarity with environmental compliance systems and ISO 14001.
• Ability to summarize and concisely communicate complex issues.
• Strong computer skills and written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental programs at the Carlin Mine and oversee compliance.
• Develop staff and provide regulatory guidance.
• Support permitting strategies with Environmental Manager and regional team.
• Collaborate with operations to integrate environmental requirements into planning and daily operations.
• Provide technical guidance and review environmental deliverables.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders as needed.
• Oversee environmental contractors when needed and ensure alignment with regulations.
• Assist in budgeting and resource planning for the department.
