Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Environmental Engineer specializing in closure and reclamation to join our Environmental Team at the Cortez operation. You will oversee closure projects, manage regulatory reporting, and ensure the site meets company standards while collaborating with Federal and State authorities.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in environmental or related field, strong project management, and the ability to communicate technical results to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field is required.
• Ability to prepare technical communications for varied audiences is required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is required.
• Ability to operate independently and in small teams is required.
• Excellent safety record with safety leadership is required.
• 1-3 years of environmental compliance or reclamation/closure experience preferred.
• Strong GIS skills preferred.
• Experience with Nevada regulatory programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage site reclamation permits, regulatory reporting, and update cost models.
• Implement closure and reclamation projects in compliance with regs and standards.
• Ensure compliance with the Plan of Operations focusing on land management.
• Collect and document as-built information to track reclamation liabilities.
• Analyze monitoring data for water quality, geochemistry, and vegetation.
• Collaborate with federal/state authorities to communicate results and strategies.
• Contribute to development and implementation of site closure plans.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
