Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services Compliance Manager to oversee environmental compliance in warehousing and cross-docking operations, with emphasis on hazardous materials storage.

The role reports to the Director of Environmental Services and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders from RFP through steady-state operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental laws, risk reduction, and the ability to develop controls to improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or five+ years related experience with regulatory, corporate consulting, finance or transportation setting.
• Master's degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred.
• Five+ years progressive responsibility in environmental field with emphasis in large corporate setting.
• Familiarity with Environmental Laws impacting the transportation industry.
• Experience with regulatory agency or consulting firm in the environmental area.

Responsibilities

• Performs environmental due diligence assessments for new supply chain opportunities, with stakeholders from RFP to Go Live to ensure compliance with Ryder policies, customer requirements and regulations.
• Stays current with local, state and federal environmental regulations affecting stationary emissions, waste and hazmat management to implement controls.
• Provides day-to-day compliance support to warehouse and cross-docking facilities, including facility audits and coordinating responses to external audits.
• Develop and implement environmental training tools for waste management, spill response and regulatory reporting.
