Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services Compliance Manager to lead due diligence, regulatory analysis and reporting to ensure adherence to Ryder environmental policies in supply chain services, including warehousing and cross-docking operations.

The role reports to the Director of Environmental Services and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders from RFP issuance through Go Live and steady-state operations, focusing on hazardous materials storage and risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or 5+ years related experience in regulatory, corporate consulting, finance or transportation.
• Master's degree preferred Environmental Science or related field.
• 5+ years progressively responsible position in environmental field in a large corporate setting.
• 5+ years familiarity with Environmental Laws impacting the transportation industry.
• 5+ years experience with regulatory agency or consulting firm in the environmental area.
• 3+ years experience with hazardous materials storage and transportation.
• Knowledge of Environmental Laws impacting transportation and logistics industry.

Responsibilities

• Performs environmental due diligence assessments for new supply chain opportunities from RFP through Go Live to assure compliance with Ryder environmental policies and regulations.
• Stays current with environmental regulations affecting Ryder, including emissions, waste and hazmat management, to reduce risk and improve compliance.
• Provides day-to-day compliance support to warehouse and cross-docking facilities and coordinates responses to external audits.
• Develops and implements environmental training tools for waste management, spill response, regulatory reporting, and related needs.
