Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks an Environmental Services Compliance Manager to ensure adherence to Ryder environmental policies across warehousing and cross-docking operations, with a special emphasis on hazardous materials storage and regulatory compliance.

The role collaborates with stakeholders from RFP issuance through steady-state operations. The position will develop and implement the right environmental controls to reduce risk and improve compliance, providing training tools and ongoing support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or five years related experience.
• Master's degree preferred Environmental Science or related field.
• Five years or more progressively responsible position in the environmental field with emphasis in large corporate setting (required).
• Five years or more familiarity with Environmental Laws impacting the transportation industry (required).
• Three years or more experience with hazardous materials storage and transportation (preferred).
• Knowledge of Environmental Laws impacting the transportation and logistics industry (intermediate required).

Responsibilities

• Performs environmental due diligence assessments for new supply chain opportunities from RFP issuance through "Go Live" to assure compliance.
• Stays current with environmental regulations impacting Ryder and related to emissions, waste and hazmat management to reduce risk.
• Provides day-to-day compliance support to warehouse and cross-docking facilities, including audits and responding to external audits.
• Develops and implements environmental training tools for waste management, spill response, regulatory reporting, and related requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
