Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks an Environmental Services Compliance Manager to ensure adherence to environmental policies across warehousing and crossdocking operations, with emphasis on hazardous materials handling.

The role involves conducting due diligence, regulatory monitoring, and developing training to minimize risk and improve compliance. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders from RFP issuance through steady-state operations, reporting to the Director of Environmental

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or five years of related experience with regulatory, corporate consulting, finance or transportation setting.
• Master's degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred.
• Five years or more progressively responsible position in environmental field with emphasis in large corporate setting.
• Familiarity with Environmental Laws impacting transportation industry.
• Experience with regulatory agency or consulting firm in environmental area.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental due diligence assessments for new supply chain opportunities from RFP through Go Live.
• Monitor local, state and federal environmental regulations affecting stationary emissions and waste/hazmat management.
• Provide day-to-day compliance support to warehouse and cross-docking facilities; conduct audits and lead responses to external environmental audits.
• Develop and implement environmental training tools for waste management, spill response, regulatory reporting, and related requirements.
