Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Alcolu, SC is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead and manage the facility's environmental compliance programs. This role supports the Environmental Department, plant operations, and corporate programs, ensuring regulatory adherence across air, water, waste, and related areas.

The position requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field, industrial environmental experience, and familiarity with Title V permits. A signing bonus is offered for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental science, management, engineering, or natural sciences.
• Environmental experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Title V Air Permit program.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Expert and Compliance Standard Owner for the site.
• Assist in administration of Federal, State, and local environmental program requirements (air, wastewater, storm water, solid/hazardous waste, SARA/EPCRA, FCC, and DOT).
• Help develop and implement the corporate environmental management system and integrate it into the plant's OpEx plan.
• Analyze incident and compliance trends data with operating departments.
• Participate in incident investigations, mitigation, root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Coordinate activities and prepare reports for outside agencies.
• Assess and mitigate employee exposure to workplace hazards.
• Stay current with environmental trends, engineering and techniques.
