Job summary

GAI Consultants seeks a Compliance Environmental Specialist (Assistant Environmental Specialist 2) to perform field E&S monitoring for projects in multiple states. This remote role requires travel to project sites regionally and offers exposure to federal/state environmental regulations across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan, and Indiana.

You will lead field activities, review permits, prepare reports, and support environmental documentation while maintaining safety and QA/QC

Qualifications

• Two to four years of environmental field monitoring experience.
• Understanding of E&S control BMP concepts and permits.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word/Excel and data collection devices.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform field monitoring of erosion and sediment controls on construction projects.
• Review permits and E&S plans and ensure compliance.
• Prepare monitoring reports based on field observations.
• Assist with environmental reports, permit applications, and closeouts.
• Adhere to health, safety, and QA/QC procedures.
