Job summary

Environmental Works, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist to join the Assessment team. The role combines fieldwork, research, and report writing to support site assessments, inspections, sampling, and remediation projects.

You will collaborate with project managers, regulators, clients, and subcontractors to collect data and develop practical solutions. The position requires field and office work, deadline-driven project management, and a commitment to safety and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Undergrad degree in Environmental Science, Physical Science, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 1–5+ years environmental consulting experience preferred.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Licensed asbestos and lead-based paint inspector preferred.
• Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and assist with assessment activities.
• Conduct hazardous materials inspections (asbestos, lead-based paint, radon, etc.).
• Collect air, water, groundwater, soil, and waste samples for lab analysis.
• Monitor remediation and investigation activities; sample packaging and shipping.
• Operate instruments and document field activities; prepare technical reports.
