Job summary

Environmental Works, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist - Compliance to perform SPCC/SWPPP inspections, sampling, and regulatory coordination. The role requires understanding permit parameters, data analysis, and cross-location collaboration in diverse environments.

The position emphasizes safety, PPE usage, and adherence to OSHA standards, with opportunities to support ISO 14001 audits and client projects.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement permit parameters for sampling across industries.
• Perform SPCC and SWPPP inspections of regulated areas and outfalls as required by permits.
• Inspect stormwater BMPs and escalate corrective actions as needed.
• Complete sampling requirements on-time in a safe, efficient manner.
• Review analytical data and notify managers of exceedances or overages.
• Track inspections, sampling, CARs, and communications with project managers.
• Coordinate with governmental/regulatory organizations as needed.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
• Support safety programs and wear PPE as required.
• Assist with environmental audits for ISO 14001 and other programs.
