Job summary

Environmental Works, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist - Compliance to perform SPCC/SWPPP inspections, sampling, and regulatory coordination. The role requires understanding permit parameters, data analysis, and cross-location collaboration in diverse environments.

The position emphasizes safety, PPE usage, and adherence to OSHA standards, with opportunities to support ISO 14001 audits and client projects.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
High level of attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret maps and aerial photography.
Capable of managing deadline-driven projects and workload.
Ability to work in both field and office environments.
Understand and interpret regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

Understand and implement permit parameters for sampling across industries.
Perform SPCC and SWPPP inspections of regulated areas and outfalls as required by permits.
Inspect stormwater BMPs and escalate corrective actions as needed.
Complete sampling requirements on-time in a safe, efficient manner.
Review analytical data and notify managers of exceedances or overages.
Track inspections, sampling, CARs, and communications with project managers.
Coordinate with governmental/regulatory organizations as needed.
Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
Support safety programs and wear PPE as required.
Assist with environmental audits for ISO 14001 and other programs.
