Job summary

Environmental Works, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist to join our Assessment team in a role that blends fieldwork, research, and report writing for environmental site assessments, hazardous materials inspections, sampling, and remediation projects.

You will work with project managers, clients, regulators, and subcontractors to collect accurate data, document field activities, and develop practical solutions while balancing field and office responsibilities. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Physical Science, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Complete Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and assist with assessment activities.
• Conduct hazardous materials inspections: asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, radon, and indoor air sampling.
• Collect air, water, groundwater, wastewater, soil, and waste samples for lab analysis.
• Monitor remediation and investigation activities; supervise field technicians and subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and project documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, regulators, clients, and vendors; travel up to 10%.
