Environmental Works, Inc. (EWI) is seeking an Associate Scientist to join our Assessment team.
This role blends fieldwork, research, and report writing to support environmental site assessments, hazardous materials inspections, sampling, and remediation projects. You will work with project managers, clients, regulators, subcontractors, and staff to collect data, document field activities, and develop practical solutions.
Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $60,000.00 Annually
Environmental Works (EWI) is looking for an Associate Scientist to join our Assessment team. This position combines fieldwork, research, and report writing to support environmental site assessments, hazardous materials inspections, sampling, and remediation projects. The Associate Scientist will work closely with project managers, clients, regulators, subcontractors, and other team members to collect accurate data, document field activities, and develop practical solutions for a variety of environmental challenges. To be successful, this individual will be comfortable working in both field and office environments, managing deadline-driven projects, and approaching each assignment with professionalism, reliability, and a strong desire to learn.

Work is performed mostly in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures for long periods of time is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas. Work in diverse environments such as confined spaces, various heights, and storage tanks. Work outdoors in all weather conditions; extreme heat, cold, dry or wet environment.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds. Sitting 10%, standing/walking 90%.
