Job summary

Environmental Works Inc. is hiring an Associate Scientist - Compliance to support permit parameters, conduct SPCC/SWPPP inspections, and ensure timely sampling across industries. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory adherence, and cross-location collaboration.

The position requires an undergraduate science/engineering degree and may include HAZWOPER training and DOT/Hazmat prerequisites. A full-time schedule with flexible hours and on-site work in Oklahoma is expected.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps and aerial photography.
  • Capable of managing deadline-driven projects and workload.
  • Ability to work in both a field and office environment.
  • Understand and interpret regulatory guidelines.
  • Analyze numerical and graphic data.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement permit parameters for sampling across industries.
  • Perform SPCC and SWPPP inspections under applicable permits.
  • Inspect stormwater BMPs and escalate corrective actions.
  • Complete sampling requirements on-time and safely.
  • Review analytical data and flag exceedances to managers.
  • Track inspections, samples, CARs, and communicate with managers.
  • Engage with governmental/regulatory contacts as needed.
  • Develop relationships across locations and maintain safety standards.
