You will read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and follow specific welding procedures. The role emphasizes teamwork, learning through our Weld Training Program, and contributing to a productive, safe shop environment.

Qualifications

• Entry-level welding experience or formal training preferred.
• Ability to complete Vermeer’s Weld Training Program and AWS GMAW-P certification to D14.0 (1G-UL).
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and apply precise measurements.
• Ability to access digital work instructions and drawings using computer systems.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and root cause analysis.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Complete weldments in various positions per blueprints and welding specs.
• Prepare, position, and align components; tack weld and clamp for final welds.
• Safely operate an oxyfuel torch for preheating and perform routine maintenance.
• Read blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions; apply decimal-based measurements.
• Access digital drawings and work instructions via computer systems.
• Identify welding defects and support corrective actions to maintain quality.
• Support 5S and keep a clean, efficient work area.
