Job summary

Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. is seeking an entry level Wastewater Operator to learn and control treatment plants, machines, and equipment. The role includes travel to multiple locations for training and long-term development into higher technician roles. A state license will be pursued during the program.

The position emphasizes hands-on learning, safety compliance, and knowledge growth across diverse water treatment processes within the United States.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient with MS Office or Google Apps.
• 1–3 years of related work experience.
• Mechanical background preferred.
• Willingness to travel and learn from various treatment facilities across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate and control electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of water into treatment facilities.
• Learn to collect and test water samples to determine concentration levels and impurities.
• Learn to perform scheduled maintenance, service, and new installations of water treatment equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of client data such as residual chemicals, water turbidity, and pressure.
• Comply with client and Veolia safety parameters.
• Provide regular communication with fellow operators and management on non-routine parameters.
• Coordinate with purchasing to order wastewater treatment supplies to maintain equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate repairs as necessary.
• Study and obtain the required wastewater certification; participate in the Operator In Training program.
• Assist in developing training aids for the OIT program.
• Work different shifts (days, evenings, nights) including 12-hour nights.
• Travel to multiple locations; training may require 1–2 weeks away from home and up to 50% travel.
