Job summary

Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Wastewater Operator to learn and operate treatment facilities across multiple locations. The role focuses on operating pumps, testing water quality, and maintaining equipment while training for advancement within the wastewater field.

The position includes 12-hour night shifts, hands-on mentoring, and the potential to travel up to 50% to learn new treatment processes. A state or ABC license will be pursued during training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• MS Office or Google Apps proficiency required.
• 1–3 years of related work experience.
• Mechanical background preferred.
• Willingness to travel and learn from multiple facilities across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate and control pumps, motors, and valves to regulate flow in treatment facilities.
• Learn to collect and test water samples to determine concentration and impurities.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, service, and new installations of water treatment equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of client data, including chemical residuals, turbidity, and water pressure.
• Comply with client and Veolia safety parameters.
• Communicate regularly with fellow operators and management about non-routine parameters.
• Coordinate with other operators to support plant operations and inspections.
• Assist in data gathering for EPA reporting as needed.
• Study for and obtain relevant wastewater certifications; participate in Operator In Training programs.
• Assist in developing new training aids for the program.
• Be able to work 12-hour shifts and travel as needed.
