Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is hiring an entry-level Transportation Engineer in Peoria Heights, IL to work on design and construction engineering on transportation projects for state, county, and local agencies. The role emphasizes teamwork, learning, and applying Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads Designer tools.

You will contribute to drainage and traffic studies, prepare plans and specs to IDOT standards, and coordinate tasks with multiple offices. A B.S.

Qualifications

• Internship/co-op experience with municipal or highway projects is preferred.
• Ability to travel throughout the service area with own transportation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently while delivering quality work.
• Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design roadway, underground utility, and infrastructure improvements using Civil 3D or OpenRoads.
• Conduct drainage, traffic, and other engineering studies.
• Prepare civil engineering services for municipal, county, and state clients.
• Prepare plans and specifications using IDOT standards.
• Support Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for various clients.
• Assist with construction engineering services for diverse clients.
• Assist project engineers/managers with tasks to deliver projects.
