Job summary

Omaha Public Power District is seeking a Senior Substation Modification & Compliance Engineer to lead expert reviews, design robust maintenance programs, and drive reliability across the fleet.

You will coordinate outage strategies, guide oil compliance, and advance regulatory documentation while mentoring engineers and shaping departmental standards to meet evolving requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have PE license in NE or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Strong understanding of regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead expert review of equipment test results and maintenance planning.
• Develop and manage Protection System Maintenance Program with audit readiness.
• Coordinate asset configuration and reliability improvements.
• Plan outages and work with Field Supervisors to maintain operations.
• Provide advanced engineering design support and troubleshooting for substations.
• Deliver analytics and metrics to strengthen maintenance strategy.
• Lead NERC/SIP/EPA compliance activities and audits.
• Mentor staff and develop departmental standards.
