Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking an entry-level, paid, full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor in Massachusetts. The role focuses on coaching and mentoring students to improve academic success, attendance, and behavior.

Training is provided at the start of the year, with ongoing collaboration with teachers and school staff to support both individual students and whole-class initiatives. As an AmeriCorps member, you will contribute to literacy and math development, help create safe classroom

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary; training is provided at the beginning of the year.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff every step of the way.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and work with teachers on in-class instruction and student assistance.
• Provide literacy and math activities tailored to student levels and encourage assignment completion.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
• Support whole school initiatives to increase student engagement and family involvement.
