Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor in Massachusetts as part of AmeriCorps. You will coach and mentor students, help improve attendance, literacy and math skills, and collaborate with teachers on classroom activities and student progress.

The role includes 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year, a paid full-time commitment, and City Year benefits. You will work with students across school levels to foster a positive school climate.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role; full training provided.
• No prior experience required; training 2–4 weeks at start of year.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math skills with varied learning activities.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Develop interpersonal skills through daily activities and reflect on learning.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and input data.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space with teachers.

Education
