Job summary

GEI Consultants' California Water Resources practice in Rancho Cordova is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our team. You will support structural/geo-structural work on water resource facilities, performing analysis, design, drawings, and reports under senior staff supervision. You will collaborate with project managers, prepare calculations, and travel to project sites as needed.

A B.S. in Civil Engineering and 0–3 years of experience are required; MS/PhD and EIT/PE are

Qualifications

B.S. degree in Civil Engineering required.
0-3 years of professional experience in Structural Engineering.
Proficient with MS Office and familiar with AutoCAD.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Willing to travel to site locations as needed, including field assignments.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design of hydraulic structures under the direct supervision of senior staff.
Collaborate with senior project managers and technical staff across the company.
Evaluate and analyze collected data and prepare technical reports, letters and memoranda.
Prepare design calculations, permit documents, and reports.
Develop construction drawings through coordination with CAD team, technical specifications, cost estimates and bid documents.
Travel to project sites and other offices as required, including overnight travel.
