Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. in Rancho Cordova, CA seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex water resource projects across Northern California and the United States.

The role focuses on dams, spillways, levees, and conveyance, with design and construction management responsibilities. The position requires a California-licensed PE with 12+ years of experience, strong written and verbal communication, and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in California.
• 12+ years experience.
• Familiarity with detailed design and specification preparation.
• Experience managing PEs and EITs with multiple project deadlines.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support projects on water resource facilities and hydraulic structures (dams, spillways, outlet works, levees, piped and channeled conveyance, water storage and water recharge).
• Develop and be responsible for quality, scope, and fee for deliverables for projects.
• Supervise engineering design technicians and other technical staff.
• Lead teams for design modeling, take-offs, analysis, and design calculations.
• Prepare technical memos, reports, specifications and other written documentation.
• Review and evaluate design and construction practices.
• Lead project meetings and work in a team environment or independently.
• Identify needs and support meetings with internal staff and external clients.
• Participate and lead business development activities and office growth.
