Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks Shipyard Laborers to support U.S. Navy shipyard projects in the Norfolk, VA and Newport News, VA area.

You will join a dynamic team performing general manual labor, loading/unloading, and assisting with fire watch and welding helper duties on high-technology installations aboard naval ships. A high school diploma or GED is required, the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance, and willingness to travel up to 10% to different shipyards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 10% to different shipyards.
• Willing to work second shift and overtime beyond 40 hours.
• Able to access NAVSTA & DBIDS and pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor including loading, unloading, lifting and moving supplies.
• Duties as fire watch and welder's helper as well as install electric cable when needed.
• Work under immediate supervision.
• Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
