Job summary

Serco is seeking Shipyard Laborers to support US Navy C5ISR installations in the Norfolk, VA area. You will perform general labor and assist welders and electricians on high-technology shipboard projects.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and be able to obtain a Secret clearance, pass background/drug screening, work second shift and be willing to travel up to 10% to Norfolk and Chesapeake shipyards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Ability to access shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS), background check, and drug screening.
• Willing to work second shift and >40 hours per week.
• Travel up to 10% to Norfolk/Chesapeake shipyards.

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor including loading, unloading, lifting and moving supplies and materials.
• Perform duties as a fire watch and welder's helper; install electric cable when needed.
• Work under immediate supervision.
• Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
