Job summary

Fifth Third Bank in Cary, North Carolina is seeking a Retail Personal Banker I as part of a 4-8 week onboarding program with rotations in operations and Sales & Service. The role focuses on consultative selling, acquiring new households, and deepening customer relationships within the Retail Personal Banker family.

The program includes a certification upon completion to demonstrate required skills and readiness for a Financial Center or Bank Mart role.

Qualifications

• College degree or work experience providing transferrable skills, or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience in the financial industry preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with sales activities designed to acquire new consumer households and/or cross-sell to established customers.
• Must be able to demonstrate understanding of advanced math functions that will allow for analysis of credit and financial information.
• Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in terms of appearance and verbal/written communication.
• Demonstrated ability to develop a working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures to utilize good judgment in decisions.
• This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at time of employment via NMLS.”

Responsibilities

• Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify needs.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend solutions.
• Utilize CAMP and approved tools to reach out to customers and set appointment for financial reviews.
• Primarily cross-sell to existing customers and engage in outside sales activities.
• Establish relationships with assigned Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
• Meet/exceed customer experience and production goals and drive revenue growth.
• Provide guidance to CSRs regarding the sales and referral process.
• Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Answer customer questions and own issues with integrity.
• Maintain trust and keep business information confidential.
• Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies.
• Open/servicing of the full range of Retail products.
• Participate in consumer loan and bankcard process from application to closing.
• Participate in opening/closing of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
• Stay up to date on Retail procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
