Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh seeks a nursing support role to assist registered nurses in direct patient care and unit coordination. You will perform basic nursing procedures for stable patients and assist with acutely ill patients under RN supervision.

Requirements include high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and criminal background clearances. Enrollment in ASN/BSN programs is preferred; two weeks of training is available.

Qualifications

• CPR certification (American Heart Association) is required.
• Acute care experience within the last 3 years is preferred.
• Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 clearances are required.
• Currently enrolled in an ASN or BSN program with at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Accurately documents vital signs, I&O, restraints, specimens and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
