Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care technician responsible for providing direct care to patients and assisting with non-direct patient care unit coordination. The role requires performing basic nursing procedures related to care and comfort of stable patients and working under the supervision of registered nurses.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and be willing to attend training. Essential skills include the ability to follow instructions and perform basic mathematics. Previous acute care experience and current enrollment in a nursing program are preferred.

Qualifications

• Limited or no experience; must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• CPR – American Heart Association certification.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, and other treatments.

Skills

Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions

Basic computer skills

Ability to perform basic mathematics
