Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh is hiring a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in a stable inpatient setting. You will perform activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, and documentation in the electronic medical record, while upholding patient dignity and HIPAA compliance.

Training is provided; ASN/BSN students encouraged to apply and pursue clinical rotations.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred Acute care experience within last 3 years.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program.
• Preference given to those enrolled in Associates or Bachelor’s degree Nursing programs and completed at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care such as activities of daily living, vital signs, and specimen collection.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean environment.
• Documents all treatments and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Performs unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
