Job summary

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant in Falmouth, MA. This entry level position supports comprehensive ophthalmic care under supervision, including data collection and a well-organized clinical environment.

No prior experience is required; free training is provided with a path to JCAHPO certification within 24 months from the date of hire. Schedule is Monday–Friday, full time (30–40 hours) with no nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• General understanding of anatomy and physiology.
• Strong math and science skills.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining service and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in data collection and clinical tasks.
• Conduct visual acuity testing, visual field testing, lensometry, auto refractometry, refractometry, pupil assessment, extraocular motility, tonometry and related tests.
• Maintain patient medical records and ensure an organized workflow.
• Participate in employer-sponsored training with goal of JCAHPO certification within 24 months from date of hire.
