Job summary

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, Inc. in Sandwich, MA is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant. This entry-level role offers paid training and the chance to learn front-line ophthalmic care under supervision, with Monday–Friday hours and no nights.

You will support physicians with data collection, perform basic vision tests, maintain records, and help ensure a smooth clinical workflow while developing toward certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–1 years of ophthalmic assistant experience; we will train.
• Strong math and science skills; proficient data entry.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in gathering patient data and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
• Perform visual acuity testing, refractometry, and preliminary ophthalmic measurements.
• Maintain patient records and support ongoing training to become certified.
• Provide supportive patient care and ensure confidentiality.
