Job summary

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, Inc. is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support physicians with patient data collection and comprehensive ophthalmic care in a busy clinical setting.

This entry-level position offers free training, opportunities for COA certification within 24 months, and a Monday–Friday full-time schedule on-site. Prior experience is not required, and strong math/science skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No experience required; full training provided.
• Strong math and science skills helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with gathering patient data and maintaining a clinical environment.
• Perform ophthalmic tests such as visual acuity, lensometry, auto refractometry, and tonometry.
• Maintain patient medical records and ensure smooth clinic workflow.
• Participate in employer-sponsored training to become a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) within 24 months.
