Job summary

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, Inc. (OCB) is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. This entry-level role includes free training and the opportunity to develop core ophthalmic skills under supervision.

You will perform visual acuity testing, tonometry, refractometry, and assist physicians, while maintaining accurate patient records. Mon-Fri, full-time schedule with no nights or weekends; generous benefits accompany your career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• No experience required; free training provided.
• On-the-job training to become certified by JCAHPO as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant within 24 months of hire.
• Customer service experience helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in gathering patient data and examinations.
• Conduct visual acuity testing, visual field testing, lensometry, auto refractometry, refractometry, pupil assessment, extraocular motility, tonometry, eye drop instillation.
• Maintain patient records and organized workflow in a clinical setting.
• Participate in employer-sponsored training aiming for JCAHPO certification within 24 months.
