Job summary

We are seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group and contribute to design and analysis for new facilities, plant betterment, and modifications. You will apply knowledge of materials, steel and concrete design, and structural analysis while collaborating with engineers and designers from multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Structural/Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with strong background in materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design
• Coursework in steel and concrete design completed
• Knowledge of loads analysis for structural supports and design integrity
• Understanding of applying structural engineering principles to project design
• Familiarity with design techniques and producing technical drawings/models
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Proficiency with MS Office applications

Responsibilities

• Prepare design calculations and develop specifications
• Support designers with drawing development
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, supports, and foundations
• Conduct analyses for loading conditions such as wind and seismic
• Collaborate with engineers and designers across disciplines
• Assist with project reviews and design reviews with clients/vendors
