Job summary
Sargent & Lundy invites entry-level Structural Engineers to join our Nuclear Power Group in Minnesota. You will apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and steel/concrete design while collaborating with engineers from multiple disciplines on new builds, plant betterment, and related modifications.
You will learn to calculate loads, prepare calculations, and support drawing development, with opportunities for travel to client sites for reviews and field verification.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Structural/Civil Engineering with strong materials, analysis, steel and concrete design.
- Knowledge of practical loads analysis for structural supports and design integrity.
- Understanding of applying engineering principles to project design.
- Familiarity with structural design tools and drawings/models.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; proficient in MS Office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare design calculations and develop specifications.
- Support designers with drawing development and modeling.
- Perform structural analysis of steel frames, connections and foundations.
- Assess wind and seismic loading scenarios in designs.
