Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer 1 for its Nuclear Power Group in the United States. You will design and modernize electrical systems for existing nuclear plants, SMRs, and advanced facilities, supporting life-extension and digital upgrades.

You will work with a project team, learn from senior engineers, use ETAP for analysis, and gain exposure to client interfaces and regulatory requirements while developing toward Professional Engineer licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering with strong power systems background.
• Understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering on project design.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in engineering calculations and design tasks for large nuclear power generating stations, including protection and coordination studies and cable sizing.
• Utilize ETAP to perform power systems analysis and modelling for complex electrical networks.
• Assist with design, selection, and integration of major electrical power equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, transformers, breakers, and relays.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage in technical training sessions and reviews.
• Gain exposure to client stakeholders and real-world project requirements, including site walkdowns and licensing considerations.
