Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to help design and modernize critical electrical systems and large power components for existing nuclear plants, SMRs, and advanced reactor facilities. You’ll learn through hands-on projects, guided by senior engineers, and engage in real-world design challenges.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with strong academic background.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations and designs for large nuclear power stations, including protection, coordination studies, cable sizing, and DC battery sizing.
• Use ETAP to perform power systems analysis and modeling for complex electrical networks.
• Assist with the design, selection, and integration of major electrical power equipment (switchgear, MCCs, transformers, breakers, relays).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with client stakeholders as needed.
