Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens and educate families on early intervention. On-the-job training is provided, with annual certification accredited by the American Academy of Audiology, to ensure high-quality newborn hearing screening across hospital locations.

Providers screen eligible newborns, document results, and coordinate follow-up appointments as needed, while adhering to safety and patient education

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.
• One to three months of previous experience with newborns and in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate each patient for screen readiness before performing a screen.
• Collect all necessary data and demographics for each baby; perform the hearing screen and related services.
• Ensure documentation protocol is followed for every screen.
• Provide education to parents about the screen and next steps.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and refer babies.
• Schedule outpatient appointment for refer babies when appropriate.
• Perform screens efficiently while maintaining quality and patient education.
