Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Reno, NV is seeking a Necropsy Technician I to support Safety Assessment operations. You will perform basic necropsy procedures, tissue collection, and data documentation, with training on site.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; an AA/AS in biological science is preferred. One year of pathology lab experience is required; no licensure is needed. Training is 3 months, followed by 4/10 shifts from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED required; AA/AS in biological science preferred.
• Experience: 1 year of pathology laboratory experience; equivalent education/experience may be accepted.
• Certification/Licensure: None.
• Other: Team member, accurate data recording, follow instructions, professional interaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic necropsy procedures and document activities; receive and ship samples.
• Assist with necropsy procedures (dissection, tissue collection/preservation, trimming, sampling).
• Learn correct anatomic terms.
• Receive samples, track documentation, and prepare materials for shipment/archiving.
• Perform euthanasia and post-mortem examinations for pathologist review.
