Job summary

Charles River seeks a Technician I – Necropsy in Mattawan, MI, to support the 1st Shift Pathology Services Team. The role involves learning basic necropsy skills, animal handling, and sample processing under supervision.

The position pays $20/hr with a Monday–Friday schedule and weekends/holidays rotation. Emphasis on accurate data capture, lab prep, safety, and GLP/SOP adherence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a biological science preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Performs euthanasia and post-mortem examination of animals, including removal, processing and preserving of organs for microscopic evaluation by a veterinary pathologist.
• Train in onboarding skills including animal handling, sedation, dissection, sample collection and lab prep.
• Collect, document, review, and verify data on forms or electronic systems.
• Review documentation of functions for quality control requirements.
• Use and maintain instrumentation and equipment.
• Learn anatomical terms and manage samples for department needs.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
