Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited Law School.
• Current license to practice law in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned cases by reviewing documentation, conducting legal research, interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence and determining actions.
• Drafts, files and responds to motions, briefs or other legal documents for trials/hearings.
• Explains legal processes to witnesses and prepares them for testimony while keeping clients informed.
• Gathers and presents evidence for trials or hearings.
• Represents the State in trials/hearings with jury selection, openings, direct/cross-examinations and closing arguments.
• Participates in settlement or plea negotiations.
• Prepares necessary legal documents if a settlement/plea is reached and ensures signings and filings as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
