Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school.
• No experience required.
• Requires a current license to practice law in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned cases by reviewing documents and researching applicable laws.
• Drafts, files and responds to motions, briefs, or other legal documents.
• Explains legal processes to witnesses and prepares them for court testimony.
• Gathers, prepares and presents evidence for trials or hearings.
• Represents the State in trials/hearings including jury selection and opening/closing statements.
• Participates in settlement or plea negotiations where applicable.
• Prepares necessary legal documents if a settlement is reached and ensures filings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
