Responsibilities

• Evaluate assigned cases by reviewing documentation, researching laws, interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence and determining action.
• Draft, file and respond to motions, briefs or other legal documents for trials and hearings.
• Explain legal process to witnesses and prepare witnesses for testimony, keeping clients informed.
• Gather, prepare and present evidence for trials or hearings.
• Represent the State in trials/hearings by conducting jury selection, delivering openings, direct/cross examinations, and closings.
• Participate in settlement or plea-bargain negotiations.
• Prepare necessary legal documents if settlement or plea is reached and ensure filings.
