Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Mechanical Structural Engineer for the MA&T Department. You will join a team of 200+ engineers working on structural analyses from early design to field support, including tasks from classical stress analyses to advanced finite element methods.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, experience in structural design/analysis, and proficiency with tools like PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, or ABAQUS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM major by start date.
• Experience in structural design and analysis.
• Experience with structural analysis tools: PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis.
• Perform detailed structural analyses to solve programmatic design challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models and generate mechanical loads/environments.
• Collaborate with experienced analysts on moderate-complexity problems under cost/schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews to ensure accuracy of work products.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports.
