Job summary

Braconier is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Construction Estimator in Denver, CO to support preconstruction efforts for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to price scopes accurately and competitively.

Responsibilities include quantity takeoffs, reading drawings, vendor quotes, and bid package support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping) is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for mechanical systems.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Maintain and update historical cost data and databases.
• Support the preparation of bid packages and proposals.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and walkthroughs as needed.
• Coordinate with project management and field personnel teams during hand-off.
• Learn and use estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Quick Pen, Bluebeam, Excel).
• Assist in identifying scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
