Job summary

Modigent is seeking an entry-level Preconstruction Estimator I to support early-phase estimates for commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems. You will assist senior estimators with takeoffs, pricing, and bid preparation, learning best practices in a collaborative environment.

This role focuses on developing accurate conceptual and detailed estimates, with guidance from mentors, while contributing to profitable projects across nationwide operating companies.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating or preconstruction helps; internships OK.
• Familiarity with HVAC/mechanical systems is a plus.
• Willingness to learn Modigent estimating methods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with conceptual, ROM, and detailed cost estimates for HVAC/mechanical systems.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment under supervision.
• Support bid package assembly and data organization for proposals.
• Maintain organized project files and estimate records.
• Identify basic design challenges and opportunities for value engineering.
