Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group seeks an entry-level engineer in California to join our Engineering Development Training (EDT) program. You will learn from senior engineers while contributing to CAD/BIM drafting, basic design under supervision, and coordination with architectural and engineering teams.

This role emphasizes hands-on learning, field observations, and participation in the EDT program, with a path toward licensure and advanced design responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with graduation Winter 2026, Spring or Summer 2027
• E.I.T. or FE is preferred
• Knowledge of Auto CAD MEP and Revit is required or a plus

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of a senior engineer/designer
• Learn drawing organization and company standards
• Perform CAD/BIM-drafting for various projects
• Coordinate with other trades under guidance of senior staff
• Support design and engineering for new installations, retrofits, replacements, upgrades
• Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
• Assist engineers with field investigations and site visits
• Participate in the Engineering Development Program training sessions
• Attend EDT program continuing education seminars
