Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join the Cities & Places team in Pittsburgh. You will support design, analysis, and delivery of mechanical building systems across markets such as commercial, healthcare, higher education, government, science, and technology facilities.

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
0–2 years of relevant engineering experience (internships, co-ops, or project work).
Familiarity with Revit through coursework or experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support design and analysis of mechanical building systems, including HVAC and plumbing.
Prepare calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
Develop and modify design drawings and models using Revit and other tools.
Coordinate with architects, structural, and electrical engineers and other stakeholders.
Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction support activities.
Assist with equipment selection, system layouts, and energy-efficient design solutions.
Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and client requirements.
