Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of building systems across markets including commercial, healthcare, higher education, and government.

You will gain hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, and energy-efficient design, using Revit and other engineering software while collaborating with architects, structural, and electrical teams on project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, or academic project experience.
• Familiarity with or exposure to Revit through coursework, internships, projects, or professional experience.
• Basic understanding of mechanical building systems and engineering principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and analysis of mechanical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and related infrastructure.
• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Develop and modify design drawings and models using Revit and other engineering software tools.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other project stakeholders.
• Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction support activities.
• Assist with equipment selection, system layouts, and energy-efficient design solutions.
• Support project managers and senior engineers with project delivery tasks, schedules, and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs are developed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Contribute to a positive team culture focused on safety, quality, and innovation.
