Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking an entry-level Mechanic C to learn and follow branch, regional, and national procedures. You will perform preventative maintenance and inspections to keep our fleet on the ready line, while safely applying training in mechanical, electrical, and safety tasks.

You will gain experience with various equipment and work under supervision to advance to higher mechanic roles, contributing to quality workmanship and timely maintenance in a dynamic rental environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Some knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems; willingness to learn how to read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes Herc Rentals quality standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, filters, lubrication, and inspections.
• Enter work orders and complete part ordering via the fleet management system.
• Produce timely service reports and repair logs.
• Collaborate with supervisor to ensure machine performance meets safety and operational standards.
