Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking an entry level Mechanic C to learn product knowledge and maintain fleet readiness. You will follow branch procedures and perform preventative maintenance on Herc fleet, under supervision, to support on-time readiness and safety.

The role builds skills through hand and diagnostic tools and focuses on quality, safety, and accurate reporting. You will gain experience with oil changes, tire work, and hydraulic/electrical systems while developing documentation habits and

Qualifications

• Accredited education in heavy equipment repair or 1 year of experience in lieu of
• Owns a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete repairs
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Follow a consistent schedule of preventative maintenance on fleet
• Operate and test equipment to meet quality standards
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs under supervision
• Diagnose small tools and light equipment with guidance
• Major repairs with diagnostic tools and measuring instruments under supervision
• Oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose and battery work
• Enter work orders and parts orders via fleet management system
• Assist in reconditioning parts of heavy equipment
• Learn warranty coverages
• Maintain a clean, organized work area
• Produce timely service reports and logs
• Follow procedures and protocols
• Perform additional duties as assigned
